This class follows the Level 1 guidelines of the American Avalanche Association. You will learn how to access and understand local avalanche information, steps to prepare for safe travel in avalanche terrain, ways to identify avalanche terrain in the field, procedures for basic companion rescue and more.
There are two evening sessions and two full field days. The class days are Jan. 30 and 31, 5-8 p.m., in ED 241. The field days will be all day Feb. 1 and 2 in the Rattlesnake.
The cost for this class is $315. Register at the Outdoor Program or on the Campus Recreation online registration portal.
