This class follows the Level 1 guidelines of the American Avalanche Association. You will learn how to access and understand local avalanche information, steps to prepare for safe travel in avalanche terrain, ways to identify avalanche terrain in the field, procedures for basic companion rescue and more.

There are two evening sessions and two full field days. The class days are Jan. 24 and 25, 5-8 p.m., in ED 214. The field days will be all day Jan. 26 and 27 at Lost Trail.

The cost for this class is $225. Register by Jan. 21 at the Outdoor Program or on the Campus Recreation online registration portal.

Gear up for the winter ski and snowboard season! During the two-hour class (6-8 p.m.) learn how to do base repair, wax boards and sharpen edges through hands-on instruction.

Belay Clinics take place Tuesday nights from 5-7 p.m. from January through March at the Fitness & Recreation Center climbing wall.

The $15 fee includes rentals and personalized instruction.

This is a great clinic to learn what it takes to rope climb on the wall. It covers fundamentals such as climbing gear, knots and belay techniques, and prepares you for the belay certification test. Register the day of at the front desk of the Fitness & Recreation Center.

Register by Jan. 30 for the Cross-Country Ski Class scheduled for Feb. 2. The pre-trip meeting will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30, at the Outdoor Program.

The $40 fee includes transportation, gear and instruction.

Join us for an introduction to cross-country skiing at Lolo Pass. It’s a chance to learn basic techniques and to explore a winter wonderland. The group will leave the ODP at 8 a.m. and return around 4 p.m.

Women’s Climbing Night takes place every Wednesday from 9-10:30 p.m. from January through March at the Fitness & Recreation Center climbing wall.

Women’s Climbing Nights are $5, which includes personalized instruction.

Women are invited to climb with individualized coaching and instruction from other female climbers. The gym will be available for women only for one and a half hours during this time. All levels welcome to join this group of female climbers. Register the day of at the front desk of the Fitness & Recreation Center.
