Register by Feb. 19 for the Cross-Country Ski Class scheduled for Feb. 22. The pre-trip meeting will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the Outdoor Program.

The $40 fee includes transportation, gear and instruction.

Join us for an introduction to cross-country skiing at Lolo Pass. It’s a chance to learn basic techniques and to explore a winter wonderland. The group will leave the ODP at 8 a.m. and return around 4 p.m.

The fee includes instruction, gear and transportation.

Register on the Campus Recreation online registration portal by Feb. 19 for the Ski and Snowboard Maintenance Clinic scheduled for Feb. 19.

The $15 fee includes instruction, workshop use and tools.

Gear up for the winter ski and snowboard season! During the one-hour class (6-7 p.m.) learn how to do base repair, wax boards and sharpen edges through hands-on instruction.

Women’s Climbing Night takes place every Wednesday from 9-10:30 p.m. through March at the Fitness & Recreation Center climbing wall.

Women’s Climbing Nights are $5, which includes personalized instruction. Free if you don’t need instruction or gear.

Women are invited to climb with individualized coaching and instruction from other female climbers. The gym will be available for women only for one and a half hours during this time. All levels welcome to join this group of female climbers. Pay the day of at the front desk of the Fitness & Recreation Center.

Level 1 Avalanche Class-Lost Trail @ Outdoor Program Tickets

This class follows the Level 1 guidelines of the American Avalanche Association. You will learn how to access and understand local avalanche information, steps to prepare for safe travel in avalanche terrain, ways to identify avalanche terrain in the field, procedures for basic companion rescue and more.

There are two evening sessions and two full field days. The class days are Feb. 20 and 21, 5-8 p.m., in ED 241. The field days will be all day Feb. 22 and 23 at Lost Trail.

The cost for this class is $275. Register at the Outdoor Program or on the Campus Recreation online registration portal.

Environmental concerns about new recreational activities on Missoula rivers are emerging. As commercial use grows, community awareness of the current state of public access to rivers is necessary.

Dr. Christine Oschell, river recreation manager at Fish, Wildlife and Parks, will discuss the challenges to creating ethical policies regarding river use.
